What's my IP address?

Your public IP address is the identifier your internet connection uses on the wider internet — it's how websites and services know where to send data back to you. It's typically assigned by your ISP and can change periodically (or stay fixed, with a static IP plan). It's different from your private/local IP, which only identifies your device within your home or office network.
