What Speeder does
Speeder measures your real internet download speed, upload speed, ping, and jitter, directly in your browser. There's no app to install and no account to create — you open the page, click start, and get real numbers within seconds.
The test runs using a global content delivery network built specifically for measuring network performance, so the results reflect your actual connection rather than a simulated or estimated figure.
Why we built it
Speeder is built and maintained by OhSoTech, an IT support and services company based in Pretoria, South Africa. We work with small businesses and homes every day to fix exactly the kinds of problems a slow or unstable connection causes — dropped video calls, slow backups, frustrating WiFi dead zones.
We wanted a quick, no-nonsense way for anyone to check their own connection before calling anyone for help — including us. If your results point to a real problem, we're also just a click away.
Who's behind this
Speeder is operated by OhSoTech (ohsotech.com), a Pretoria-based IT support and services company serving small businesses and homes across South Africa — including managed IT support, WiFi and network setup, CCTV, and structured cabling.
How accurate is it?
Speeder reports real, measured throughput at the moment you run the test. Results can vary based on your device, whether you're on WiFi or a wired connection, how many other devices are active on your network, and general network conditions at that moment — this is true of any speed test, not just ours.
For the most accurate reading of your line speed, test on a device connected directly via Ethernet cable, with other devices and downloads paused.
